EA has announced cross-console private matches are coming to NHL 23 Hockey Ultimate Team in March 2023. The upcoming update will allow you to invite and face off against your friends within your respective console generation. That means you can play on your PlayStation 5 and invite friends to play on their Xbox Series X|S and vice versa. The same will be true for PlayStation 4 vs. Xbox One users.
Those are the rules.
Users on older generation consoles will not be able to send a private match to anyone on a new generation console and vice versa.
HUT Private Matches will not allow cross-generational or co-op play. Other HUT and WOC modes will still be using Cross-Platform Matchmaking for games.
