LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA — An Orange County Sheriff’s Department deputy shot at a man who drove toward a sheriff’s investigator in a Walmart Parking lot in Laguna Niguel Friday, the OCSD reported.
No one was injured in the shooting, authorities said.
According to a report published by the Orange County Register, deputies attempted to talk to the man in the supermarket’s parking lot at 27480 Alicia Parkway. The man, a probationer, reportedly got in his car and began “driving erratically,” the report said.
One deputy fired at the man when he began driving in the direction of an investigator, but no one was struck, OCSD Sgt. Scott Steinle told the OC Register.
The man was later arrested nearby after he drove out of the parking lot, authorities said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no further information was immediately available.
