The regular season PGA Tour has concluded and so has the Comcast Business Tour Top 10. The Tour Top 10 rewards the top 10 players in the point list with a purse of 20 million to be shared amongst each other. Here’s how everything stacked up:
“I’m proud of securing the top spot in the Comcast Business TOUR TOP 10 as it represents great competition over the course of a season against the best players in the world,” Scheffler said. “This is a great reminder of all the hard work I’ve put in over the years with the support of my family and team.”
Notably, the runner-up, Cameron Smith, after a very successful season of winning the Players Championship and Open Championship, is likely to join LIV Tour per PGA Tour Pro Cameron Percy. Supposedly his mate, Marc Leishman, will be set to join him when the move is complete if true.
🚨#NEW: Cam Smith & Marc Leishman are heading to LIV GOLF according to fellow Australian golfer Cam Percy, who finished T8 at the Wyndham. “Unfortunately, yeah they’re gone”, Percy said the deals are already done. (Via RSN Radio Australia)

Cameron Young’s fabulous performance in the Open Championship helped him crack the Top 10 without a single win this season. Just to give some perspective on the PGA Tour Rookie: he finished 2nd five times this season in addition to two third place finishes (T-3, PGA Championship).

The young 25-year-old Cameron Young is capable of producing some fireworks in the FedEx Cup Playoffs. However, other guys like Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Justin Thomas, amongst other stars, are equipped to raise the hardware at East Lake.
It will certainly be an entertaining finish to the season with many future hall of fame players battling it out starting this Thursday in the first week of the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Cleveland Golf’s new RTX 6 ZipCore wedges are hitting the market in the coming weeks, and they may be what you need to revolutionize your short game.
Over the past few years, OEMs have come to the market with a variety of new technologies that are geared toward increasing spin, forgiveness, and greenside control for the average player. Of course, we amateurs can use all the help we can get on and around the greens, so the advances in player technology have only benefitted the high handicapper.

However, Cleveland aims to push the envelope even more with a few new additions to the 2023 wedges they will bring to the market. The RTX 6 ZipCore wedges are geared toward a classic look with state-of-the-art technologies and improvements.
Cleveland said in a press release that, with the new wedges, high spin shots will be available from nearly any lie, even in higher grass or less tight lies.
Pat Ripp, Tour Engineering Manager of R&D for Cleveland Golf, said:
“The RTX 6 ZipCore Wedge may have the classic look on the outside, but inside it’s packed with three technological breakthroughs that give the advantage to the golfer and not the condition.”

The RTX 6 ZipCore has three main innovations that are new to this lineup of wedges: HydraZip, ZipCore, and UltiZip.
Additionally, a variety of new Sole Grinds will offer players of all levels preferences to match their game:
LOW+ is new for this year and is featured on sand wedge lofts, Cleveland detailed.

This isn’t your average thrift store deal…this is a literal jackpot!
Instagram user Nolan Conway (@Nolan_Conway) recently alerted us to a once-in-a-lifetime deal he scooped up at a Goodwill in Indianapolis…
A Scotty Cameron Newport 2 for the insane price of just $2.99!

For a bit of perspective on just how good this deal is, similar Scotty putters have gone for nearly $300 on eBay.
And, because this particular putter is a lefty model, it could fetch an even higher price due to it being more rare.

Needless to say, it’s worth the trip to the golf club section of your local thrift store to see if there are any gold nuggets lying around!

PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, in his first public comments about LIV Golf since the Tour Championship last August, hinted at what his tour is offering in 2023 vs. what LIV has in store for its second season.
Monahan said:
“We’re at a point now where it’s product versus product.”
Monahan spoke at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, which is one of the new what is now called “designated events” with $20 million purses this season.
In addition to the four majors, the Players Championship, and the three FedEx Cup playoff events, eight additional tournaments are seeing a spike in prize money and an increase in the prestige of the field.
He said:
“We have our schedule. We’ve laid it out and we’re going to keep getting better and better and better. They have theirs. And we’re going to continue to be the most pro-competitive, aspirational tour in men’s professional golf.”
.@AlanShipnuck has spent the last six months beseeching the embattled PGA Tour Commissioner for an interview. On Sunday at Kapalua he finally got an audience…sort of. Another insightful read by Shipnuck from the front lines: https://t.co/y7CSv28k6R

LIV Golf will be starting in late February at Mayakoba in Mexico, but the full LIV 14-event LIV schedule hasn’t been released yet. In addition, no new golfers were named to the series after CEO Greg Norman said in October that he expected around seven new members. LIV has also yet to announce any television or media-rights deal in the United States, and the series lost two members of their executive team in recent weeks as well.
The PGA Tour’s 2023 part of the FedEx Cup season got off to a wild start, as Jon Rahm overcame a six-stroke deficit on the back nine to beat Collin Morikawa at the Tournament of Champions event in Hawaii.
